Lucy Robinson joins us this week, and there is a lot to talk about — in the best way.
First up: pregnancy. Lucy shares how it feels to step into a totally new chapter while still holding onto her horsey identity. We talk energy levels (or lack thereof), shifting priorities, and the surprisingly emotional task of figuring out who you are when life changes shape. It’s honest, warm, and very, very relatable.
Then we move to her retraining journey with her ex-racehorse — who, let’s just say, has his own thoughts about dressage, patience, and what constitutes a “reasonable” pace. We get into progress, regressions, breakthroughs, and why doing things slowly can sometimes feel harder than going fast.
Plus:
Ben faces Rope HaltGate head-on after last week’s listener feedback (he’s fine, we think).
Jenny and Simon deliver the usual blend of support and friendly chaos.
If you’ve ever tried to do your best in the middle of major life changes — with a horse who also has opinions — this episode is for you.
Tune in, have a laugh, and come on tour with us.
